Happy Saturday! It's finally cooling down, we actually had windows opened yesterday, so nice to get a little bit of a breeze coming through. I have some a fun card to share with you today inspired by this week's Inspiration Challenge (IC136) - Cupcake Wedding Cakes. You just know I had to stay up and put something together.
This is the wedding cake I selected to base my card on.
This is my card.
Besides it being my favorite color combo, it reminds me of polka dots, so really what ca be better. This was also great because I got to use some new stamps and put my scrap stash to good use. I started off with 4" x 4" Whisper White Textured card base. On the bottom half I layered, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, and Whisper White punched out 1" card stock circles. I then added a strip of Chocolate Chip Poly Twill Ribbon and two buttons with linen thread threaded through them on either side.
In the middle I added a 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" Chocolate Chip square card stock. On a piece of textured Whisper White card stock and a piece of Pink Pirouette card stock I stamped the Dreams stamp from the soon to be release Stampin' Up! Dreams du Jour set with Chocolate Chip ink. From the Pink Pirouette card stock I cut out the Dream piece and the flowers and paper pieced them onto the Whisper White textured card stock. I then ran it through the Cuttlebug with Nestabilities scallop square die and adhered it to the card front. I finished it off with a halfback pearl in the middle of the center flower and some 1/8" card stock on each of the scallop square corners.
Stamps: Stamping Up!: Dreams du Jour
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White card stock
Ink: Chocolate Chip Classic Ink
Accessories: 1" Circle Punch, Chocolate Chip Poly Twill Ribbon; Brown Button, Pretties Kit, Linen Thread, 1/8" Handheld Punch; Nestabilities Dies, Cuttelbug Liquid Adhesive, Dimensionals
I'l be back with a fun gift bag, a swap, and a RAK - thanks for stopping by!
Hope you have a cupcakelicious day,

So cool and creative!!!

Oh holy cow! I love this card. And it is so cool that you used the circles. It does look like the Necco Wafers!
And the color combo is great too!

Hi Carolina, I love this card. All the Polka dots remind me of the Vintage candy 'Necco Wafers'. I use to buy these when I was a child. I'm not sure if they still make them, but they were one of my favorites growing up. Thanks for sharing.
