ETA - this was suppose to post on Wednesday, but I'm a dork and put Sept 27 not Aug 27. So, sorry it's a day late, but home you like it!
Today's Prettie Wednesday share is a Shaker Card which is a challenge issued to us by Danielle. What I love about shaker cards is that you can pretty much add anything to the inside of the shaker to fit your theme. So imagine balloon and cupcake confetti for a birthday card or perhaps sand for a beach card, and so on...you get the picture. For mine I wanted to use Paper Pretties' Howdy Girlfriend image.
I started with a Very Vanilla 4" x 4" card base. I then added a Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper triangle to one of the corners and stamped Howdy Girlfriend! with Basic Black ink towards the bottom with some dots I made with Basic Black marker leading up to it. I tied a Very Vanilla Taffeta bow on top and set it aside.
For the shaker element I started off with a decorative frame made out of pretty think texture paper and added a piece of acetate on the back side. I laid my image facing up, inked it up, and brought the frame on top - this prevents the acetate from shifting. I added some foam along all sides of the opening with sticky strip on top, some beads and then another piece of acetate. I turned it over and added some polka dots to the frame, some ribbon and finished with a flower brad.
Check out what the other Prettie Girls have done (check out my side bar for links!). I also wanted to remind you of our Stampin' In your Jammies party at 7 pm CST over at the Paper Pretties Forumon Monday, Sept. 1st. Howdy Girlfriend will be released and would love to have you join us for some prizes, fun, and some chatter!
Also don't forget about the Cutie Pie contest - you have until 8 pm CST August 31 to upload your cards and projects to the Cutie Pie Submission gallery.
