Happy Thursday! I didn't forget Altered Item Thursday, just got a little busy and finally able to post it. Before I get to that though, wanted to alert you to a great contest that is going on right now. My buddy Donna Baker is #5 and urge you to vote for her project. She's a doll and you'll notice that by spending only a few minutes on her blog how very creative she is. Go to JustRite Stamps to cast your vote - Go #5, Go Donna!!!

So as I sat down to figure out what item to alter for today, I glanced over at one of the Top Notes I had cut out earlier this week and BAM!, it hit me...alter that into a pouch. Don't know why or how I just saw it and so here it is.
This is what I started with, (I took a photo of Top Note I cut out of Whisper White card stock so you can see the shape of it clearly...the next photos I used designer paper).
And this is what I ended up with.
Here's the step by step.
1. Cut out your Top Note using the Big Shot and Top Note Bigz Die of whatever card stock or designer paper you'd like.
2. Next fold the bottom of the die, you'll over-lap one side on top of the other. To secure it, add a glue dot to the inside of the top side and this will adhere them together.
3. Next take the bottom flap and fold it up - securing again with glue dots.
4. Using a 1/8" Handheld punch, insert it inside the pouch and punch a hole.
5. Add a Decorative Brad and you're done! Here's a photo of it with some goodies inside and a matching note card.
The note card I made for this week's Ways to Use It challenge - which was to use the White Gel Pen. The base is Very Vanilla Scallop Note. To the bottom and under the scalloped edge I added a Chocolate Chip and a Baja Breeze strip which of both I used the Scallop Edge Punch on. I added some White Gel Pen dots to Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze scallops. and Chocolate Chip dots to the Very Vanilla scallops.
Across the middle I added a strip of Chocolatee Chip 1" Double Stitched Ribbon. On scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock I stamped the For You scallop square sentiment from the Say It With Scallop set with Baja Breeze ink. Using one of the flowers from One of a Kind set, I stamped it above the sentiment with Chocolate Chip ink. I filled in the middle of the flower and added a swirl with White Gel Pen and outlined with Chocolate Chip marker. I cut out the scallop square and adhered it to the card front with dimensionals.

This is so wonderful. I like the colors you used. I just got my big shot and am so excited with how versatile it is.

Caroline - what a creative mind you have! Us right brainers need to work so hard at their creativity. My top note die is on backorder, so looks like I have to wait a while before I can try my hand at one of your beauties here. THanks for the inspiration!
So, what color "HEbrews" tee did you decide on? There were more coffee themed t's, but that one made me laugh out loud!
Have a great day!
