Happy Thanksgiving!!! Hope you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving. I'm grateful to have so much in my life and this year I've added all the friendships I've been able to form as a result of my blog. Thanks to all of you for taking the time to stop by and grub, grub, grub!!!
Today's altered item is a fun one - a cookie cooling rack turned advent calendar. The inspiration for this project came from Melanie’s Have a Cookie, she designed for Gina K. Designs. I stamped the glass of milk and tree with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored in the glass with Copics and then tree I traced with green Spica pen. Here’s a photo of the items I used for each pack to be on opened each day - a mini Oreo, a glassine bag, a felt red bow, two images from the set - the glass of milk and the tree.
I attached the bag with the cookie inside to the bow with a glue dot and then added the glass of milk to the center of the bow and the tree to the ribbon with a glue dot as well. I wrote a number in the middle of each tree with a black pen prior to attaching it to the ribbon. The great thing with these bows, which I bought at the dollar store by the way, is that they come with twist ties so it was so super easy to attach them to the cooling rack. Here's a photo of the sign and some of the bags put together.
I created the Days ‘Til Christmas sign using Publisher and printed it out on Gina K. Designs Pure Luxury White Paper, layered it on top of Close to Cocoa and that on top of textured Bashful Blue card stock. I attached the sign onto the racks with pop-up glue dots.
Finally here’s a photo of the entire thing put together - you can click on it to make it bigger.
In order to fit all 24 packs, I attached two cooling racks together.

Oh I've seen some fun calendars made with cookie sheets, but THIS is just awesome!!!! I love the special little bags hooked on for each day!!! How absolutely creative and amazing!! Sure hope you and your family had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!!!

oh no you DI' NT!! Carolina, I am amazed at how much time you put into this and how cute it turned out!! love the cooling rack idea! I need to make a bunch of cookie baggie liekt his for year roudn to limit myself to once a day! You go girl, enjoy that calendar!! :)
