Happy Monday! Hope you all had a fun weekend. Mine was amazing it was a lot of firsts for me which is always so exciting. I love trying new things, whether or not I succeed at them is another story, but just the fact that I tried it is enough for me. I promised myself a while back to live my life with NO regrets and in fact made myself a list of things to accomplish, a list of firsts if you will.
One of the things I got to do this weekend was host my first online challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers, and on top of that, made my first online video introducing that challenge - I know eek! If you want to take a peek you can go to my challenge here - Wrapped Up With Love . For my challenge you had to make a treat holder. I offered up a variety of links to tutorials as well as two samples of my own and even introduced a box template. So here's my first box, Cupid Poop.
To make the treat holder you start with a 3-1/4" x 11" piece of paper and score at 10", 6", 5", and 4". Decorate however you want and fold at each score line. Add a cellophane bag filled with candy and adhere it to the inside using double sided tape or sticky strip. I used Velcro to hold the flap down.
The stamps I used are from Storage Units, Ink & More set called, Will You be My Valentine & Sweet Things - which by the way I'll be offering one of these sets as blog candy later on this week, so be on the look out for that! The poem is called Genuine Cupid Poop. My sister got it with some treats from one of her students last year for Valentines, so I can't tell you where he got it from, but this is how it goes.
I couldn't send you flowers
And candy wouldn't do
And mushy cards just didn't
Say the things I want them to.
So I got you something special
And here's the inside scoop
I found you something very rare
It's genuine Cupid poop
Isn't it too funny! The recipe for everything I used is below.

This next box I made is made out of a template I came up with. There's tons of scoring and some cutting but really such cute results. Here's the Treat Box , Hoo Loves You?
You can find a pdf version of the template with directions here - Treat Box Template. But I thought I would add them here as well with a photo of the template (keep in mind the template is not to scale, is just more as a cutting reference for you to follow).
You start with a 9-1/4" x 6-1/2" card stock.
On the 9-1/4" side score at: 1/2", 7/8", 1-1/4", 4-7/8", 5-1/4", and 5-5/8"
On the 6-1/2" side score at: 1/2", 1-1/8", 5", 5-3/16", 5-1/16"
Cut as indicated below so that you end up with a template like this (you should end up with the dark sections as your template).
I used H&M's My Favorite Valentine set which Heather just got back in stock, so make sure to get yours quickly before she runs out of it again! I used the Scallop Edge Punch on the flap end and then added two layers of scallops under it. You can decorate as you wish and then with by just adding a piece of sticky strip to the the 1/2" flap on the left, you will be able to seal the box. The rest of the recipe is below.

Lastly, I want to announce the winner of the Comfy Valentine blog candy I offered on Saturday. I gave you a quick pick at a section of the card I made with this set and so here's the whole card I made for Julie's Love Me Tender Crush Mini VSN Challenge, Purse-anility!
The challenge was to add something soft on your card - I paper pieced velvet paper on the purse and added some velvet ribbon. The recipe is below!
The winner of the Comfy Valentine set is.... Heidi (left comment at 1:19 pm)! - please email your address to me at craftycaro_04@yahoo.com so I can send the set out to you! Thanks to all you who participated and don't forget you can also win a Bind-it-All, for all the details on how to win that, check out this post, Cards 4 Kids.

So creative boxes i can't wait to have my own like on the post.
