Well, happy Monday and February! I can't believe we're already in February - where did January go? I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I have a really fun project to share with you I designed for a recent Stampin' Up! event. You can check it out below, but first the winners of the two Blog Candies.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and generosity in participating in the
Cards for Kids Program. Pat had an amazing turn out. Last count she was up to 3,540 - can you believe it? Basically, she not only met her goal but exceeded and it was all due to this amazing stamper community I'm so proud to be a member of. Pat is responsible for this program year around so if you have Birthday cards, Thank You cards, or Thinking of You cards, she can always use them so make sure to send them her way! Now onto the winner of the Bind-It-All:
Ashley Newell!
My other blog candy was for the adorable Storage Units, Ink and More!'s
Will You Be My Valentine set. The winner of this set is
Sherri Alspach who suggested the following gift:
"How about book with poems and have each one of them put their hand prints or for the baby -- her footprint (its much easier!!) with the year-- It could be a "tradition" and you could see how much they grow from year to year too."
Ashley and Sherri, please email me your addresses, craftycaro_04@yahoo.com, and I'll be get those out to you right away!

Now onto today's creative share. I'm calling it a Purse-a-Lope. I'm sure many of you are familiar with the Bag-a-Lope which is basically when you make an envelope into a bag to hold treats. So I thought it might be cute to make a purse out of an envelope and so this is what I came up with.
You can find the tutorial here - Purse-a-Lope.
For the above sample, I used a standard size envelope and the new Stampin' Up! Sell-a-Bration set called Yummy. The designer paper on the front is from the Raspberry Designer Series Paper. The handle is 5/8" Certainly Celery Poly-Twill Ribbon which is also a Sell-a-Bration item (first time they're offering ribbon I believe and you get two spools, this one and a So Saffron spool - woo hoo!).
To ensure the envelope had a really good seal, besides the double-sided tape I used on the inside to hold both sides together, I punched a hole on each side of the purse, through all the layers and added brads. To hide the brads on the back, I punched out two mini hearts with the Heart to Heart Punch out of Raspberry Designer Series Paper and attached with glue dots as seen on the photo below. I also added the "with love" sentiment from the Yummy set at the bottom for a little something extra.
What's great about this treat holder is that you get two sides to put candy in so you can mix it up. Here's a better shot of the two sides I'm talking about. I found it easier to alternate adding candy from one side to the other. For this one I used four chocolate hearts.
Hope you have fun making these and please feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions or if you want to share your version of this project - I'd love to see it!
