Happy Thursday! I can't believe how quickly this week is going. I'm super busy with some special Easter projects and as I was putting them together the idea for my next blog candy came to me. As I mentioned yesterday I was going to give you a glimpse of the next blog candy and decided to do so with the following card I put togehter for this week's SCS Sketch Challenge (SC221), Just to say hi...
The main image (the egg, flower and ribbon) and sentiment are all from H&M Stamps Eggstra Special and Angelic Moments sets. The stitching border around the main image is from Technique Tuesday's Borderline - Notions set. The yummy texutred, cover-weight card stock I used for the background and top paper piece the egg is from Stampin' Up!'s To the Nine Specialty Designer Series Paper.
The clues here are the main image and the "texture" from the designer paper. Tune in tomorrow for the blog candy reveal!

Now onto this week's Altered Item Thursday - Pillow Box turned into an Easter Treat Holder. For the longest time I've been meaning to add a handle to the pillow box die, but couldn't quite figure it out until I rememberd the Top Note die and so that's what I used. Here's what I came up with. The first photo is of the treat closed.
Here's a photo of it opened:
Step by Step Tutorial can be found here - Pillow Purse Box Tutorial
Isn't this fun and really so easy to put together. All the items you'll need are listed in the recipe below. Using the Big Shot and Top Note die, I cut one out of Bashful Blue and one out of designer paper to layer on top. Next, using the Pillow Box die, I cut one out of Bashful Blue card stock.
First, I cut a partial oval in the middle of the front side of the pillow. I say partial because I left about 1/2" attached so that I could flip the oval up and down to reveal the candy. The embellishments I used on top of this oval are a couple of silk flowers from the Pretties Kit, some Pink Pirouette Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, White Gel Pen and a paper pieced egg. The egg is from the Wagon Full of Fun set which I stamped on Whisper White card stock, paper pieced it with Bashful Blue and designer paper and then added some Crystal Effects to it.
For the top note, I layered the designer piece on top of the Bashful Blue piece and then using the Small Oval Punch I made into a handle. I added sticky strip to the bottom edge and adhered it to the top of the Top Note. I then assembled the Top Note together and finished it off with the sweet little bunny image from the Eight Great Greetings set. I stamped the bunny on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock, colored it in with Stampin' Write Markers, and added some Crystal effects to the eggs and buttons.
Inside the box is a small cellophane bag filled with Jelly Beans, but really any type of candy will work.

Great idea, thanks for sharing!

caroline, did you glue the whole top note to the back of the pillow box? Or did you cut it in half?
Thanks Penny
