Happy Wednesday! Hope you are all having a great week. I'm so excited to be kicking off this month's H&M blog hop...I've taken a peek at all the other designer's projects for this month and you will not want to miss a thing, so make sure to follow all the links, mine is to Dawn's blog (I've also linked it at the bottom of this post as well.)
As some of you know, I'm typically a holiday ahead when it comes to creating stuff. So about a week ago I started on my Mother's Day gifts. One of them I've had in mind for a while and was waiting for H&M Stamps' Petals of Friendship set to arrive in order to put it together. I also wanted a card to go with it and decided to wait until the sketch challenge was posted over at SCS in order to put it together. So here is my project and card.
Here's a close up of the canvas frame.
I started with a 6" x 6" square canvas frame. I was going to paint it but decided that this project called for a black canvas...no punt intended...hee, hee. Anyway, I ran a piece of Paper Temptress's Black Suede paper through the Big Shot using the Baskets & Bloom Die to cut out one side of the basket. I then ran it again through the Big Shot with the checkered texturz die from the Texture Plates #4. I made some faux stitching with the White Gel Pen and added some sticky strip/double-sided tape to three of the sides and adhered it to the canvas. I set it aside to work on the flowers.
I stamped the flowers on Paper Temptresses's Gold Sparkle paper with Pumpkin Pie ink. I cut them out, textured them a bit, and added a glitter dot embellishment in the middle of each of the flowers. I added some pop-up glue dots to the back of the flowers and adhered them inside the basket.
For the sentiment I tied some double-stitched black grosgrain ribbon around the canvas and added the sentiment on top of that. I stamped the sentiment on Paper Temptresses White Diamond paper with Memento Tuxedo Ink and punched it out with the 1-1/4" Square Punch. I then punched out a Scallop Square out of Black Suede paper and adhered them together and it to the canvas.
Here's a close up of the card.
My card base is Paper Temptresses White Diamond paper which is so shimmery and pretty! Then I added a strip of Paper Temptresses's Gold Sparkle paper and a strip of Making Memories designer paper. across both strips I added a strip of ribbon and some halfback pearls on each end.
For the main panel, I stamped the flower the stems and leaves with Kiwi Kiss ink and the flower with Pumpkin Pie. I colored it in Copics and adhered it to a 1/8" bigger piece of Paper Temptresses's Black Suede paper. I added some piercing and faux stitching around the edge and added a glitter dot to the center. I punched out a photo corner out of the same black paper, added some faux stitching to it and then it to the panel. I finished it off with a tied piece of ribbon and a halfback pearl in the middle. I attached the panel to the card front and the last touch was the three black pearl in the upper right corner.

Omigosh, Carolina, these are FANTASTIC! WOW, beautiful work. This is my first time to visit your blog, but it won't be the last. TFS your works of art with us.

These are wonderful! The colors really pop! The special deets, like the embossed tote and the pearls make them true Carolina Originals!

I really love these!! The texture on the "basket" is priceless & so pretty w/the dark centers! Great idea to put it on canvas since it's too beautiful to have for only a card. (not that there is such a thing as "only a card."
