Happy Sunday! I have two posts for you today. This share is a fun one and one I'm actually revisiting from a while back, which you can find here - Baby Socks Cupcakes. When I first posted this project I received tons of emails requesting for more directions. I struggled with a way to write it out and figured it was better to show you . I decided to work with socks that have ruffles this time around as well as put a video tutorial together which I think will be easier to follow.
First here's a photo of the card with the box.
I used Taylored Expressions Weekend Sketch - #82 to design the card that goes with the gift. Here's a close up.
The base is Gina K. Designs Whisper White card stock and added a strip of Basic Grey's Bittersweet Paper of which I used the Eyelet Border Punch along one side before adhering it to the card front. I then used the same punch on a piece of Close to Cocoa card stock adhered it to the card front.
Towards the bottom of the card I tied some pink satin ribbon and added a layered flower embellishment.
The main panel I put together using several images from the Taylored Expressions' Beary Special Set. After I outlined with copics, I added some glitter to the wings and heart (the heart is stamped on Bittersweet paper). I stamped the sentiment and then cut out the whole thing with some Oval Nestabilities die. I added some sponging and some halfback pearls, adhered it to Curve Rectangle Nestabilities and that to the card front - the card is done.
Next I worked on the box which I got from Taylored Expressions. The box is called the Perfect Package Square box and it's just perfect to fit all type of things.
The sweet bear is from the same set. I paper pieced him with the same paper, Basic Grey' Bittersweet paper which I also used towards the bottom of the box. I used several round nestabilities dies to cut out the bear and then added some half back pearls before adhering it to the box. I added a ribbon rose with a ribbon tail to the top of the box.
The sentiment is below which I stamped on white card stock, layered it to Pink Pirouette, and adhered it to the top of Melon Mambo card stock. All layers were punched out with the oval and scallop edge oval punches.
Here's a photo of the inside of the box followed by a photo of just the cupcake along with the tutorial.
You can watch a step-by-step video tutorial HERE or click on the video below for a step-by-step tutorial:
I make a reference to clicking on link below this video to see the project - I'm actually referring to this post. I mentioned that in the video in case someone is on the YouTube site and wants to see the completed project.

THis is fantastic! I had my friend's baby shower yesterday but I'm going to make these for when I visit her in hospital (baby is coming 1 Jun). I just wonder if any of you ladies would have an idea how to fold the socks if they were just plain 'ol boy socks :D
