Happy Friday!!! I'm writing to you from Provo, Utah where I'm attending a Digital Scrapbooking Event. One of the things I'm hoping to tackle while I'm here is a slight blog redesign using my new skills! Wish me luck and hope it all comes together, but if you notice sort wacky changes here and there, now you'll know why!
Prior to leaving on my trip I had a chance to put together another bow tutorial that I'm showcasing on the two projects I'll be sharing with you today. I gave you sneak peek of it on this bird card I posted HERE. It's referred to the Stacked Bow or the Dior Bow, I know it as the Modern Bow...so that's what I'm going with.
This video is a little longer than the other one because I'm showing you two different ways to put it together. The first way I'm showing you in the video is with a wider and a continuous strip. Here's what it looks like on my project.
I put this little notebook together for a friend...let's face it, you can't have enough notebooks and with a coffee theme it's just a necessity - LOL! The set I used here is Verve's coffee set called Delightful & Delicious. You have seen me add rhinestones for the steam and thought it would be fun to add my newly arrived small Symmetrical Flourishes (pearls). The sentiment I cut out with Nestabilities Labels 1 and sponged a bit to make it pop. I also ran the bottom die piece through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. Now, this yummy ribbon comes in so many different colors and that I know of in two widths. You can find them and purchase them here - Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. The brad I actually made using this amazing new tool called i-top tool...I'll be putting a quick demo of how it works really soon.
Since I made the bow on this notebook with the wide ribbon and one continuous strip; therefore, I thought it was important to show you how I used scraps of the thinner ribbon to put the same type of ribbon treatment together. Here's the project I used it on:
This little topper came together quite quickly...love when that happens! The sentiment is Inkadinkado's Happy Halloween set of which I embossed and cut it out using the Inverted Scalloped Circles Nestabilities die. The designer paper is from Basic Grey's Eerie Paper Pad. I used the Martha Stewart's Drippy Goo Edger Punch on the bottom edge of the designer paper and adhered it to the black card stok. The ribbon treatment was all made from scraps and you'll be able to see how on my video. The ribbon you can find here as well - Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. Here's the tutorial I put together showing you how to make this ribbon fold, the Modern Ribbon (you can view it on YouTube here, Modern Bow).
Hope you like it and in case you need the link to where I purchased the ribbon, here it is again - Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. As always, feel free to let me know if you have any questions!
Hope you have a cupcakelicious day,

Thanks so much for your bow tutorials. So simple for such pretty bows. Happy to have found your blog.
