Missing my Chichiboulies and Just Had to Hop

Happy Saturday! My Chichiboulie stamps have been craving some ink and was so excited to have come upon a blog hop invitation over at SCS in the Bella Stamps forum and so here I am with my newest creation using Poppy Bittybloom; however, really quick before I get into my card's details, I just want to make sure you don't miss out a thing. I was inspired by this vase from this week's Inspiration Challenge over at SCS.

 

Here's what I came up with.

The beauty of this line of stamps is that they lend themselves so beautifully to CAS cards and so I wanted to go with that. I stamped the flower Poppy Bittybloom is holding four times with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored them in with Copics and cut them out. I stacked three together, added a halfbackpearl, and adhered it to a stacked ribbon and that to the card front.

The main image I stamped on a scrap piece of paper, I colored it with Copics, trimmed it down, and layered it to a slightly larger piece of white card stock. I forgot how much I love this looks and how much images pop when you layer them onto the same color card stock. I used to that  a lot a few years back and thanks to Mary Fish's adorable card she posted a few weeks ago, it all came back to me. I added one of the cut out flowers to the image and then set it aside.

I stamped the sentiment from Mini Words set and punched it out with the Small Oval Punch and layered it to a large oval punch.

Friends with Flair Friday!

Happy Friday! As you'll be able to tell in the upcoming days I'm starting to switch my focus to Thanksgiving and Christmas...so stay tuned for those projects. The card I have to share with you today is all about kicking that off and it was just perfect to do so today in Unity's Friends with Flair Friday!

I used September's Kit of the Month to put this card together.

The striped paper is from a sheet of Cosmo Cricket's Earth Lovepaper pad. I used Martha Stewart's Loop Punch along the bottom and attached it to the card front which is made from Paper Temptress' White Diamonds Paper. Across the middle I adhered some ribbon and towards the top stamped the sentiment with Vivid Coffee Bean ink. Coming off the sentiment, I added some pierced leaves using The Crafter's Workshop Deco Stitches template for a bit of an accent.

The pumpkin I stamped with Vivid Coffee Bean ink and colored it in with Copics. I cut it out and added sewed some thread through the buttons for more textures. I adhered the Pumpkin to a scallop circle I cut out with Nestabilities using Chocolate Kiss card stock. I finished it off by adding some halfback pearls to the scallop circles and in the middle of the ribbon.

Almost 'Tis The Season & A Headband!

Happy Thursday! We've had crazy winds here in Northern California which is just a nightmare for those of us with Asthma. I'm a total night owl, which is typically when I get most of my crafting done, well not this week - I was in bed by 8 pm on Tuesday night and 10 pm last night. I can't even begin to tell you the last time I went to bed this early.  Anyway, it helped tremendously, was able to get some projects done in the afternoon to share with you.

The first one is another flower I made using Just Us Girls 3d challenge (JUGS4) and since it's a 3D challenge I made into a 3D project - a headband.

I don't know about you but I can not stand paying full price for something I can make myself. I saw a similar headband for, get this, $24! Well, with just a strip of brown/ivory striped ribbon which I got from Sharon's Simply Stampin' Ribbon Store(by the way, she's having an awesome sale right now - 15% off any spool of ribbon) and by using the Blossom Nestabilities dies on some linen fabric I was able to make one for my self. This is a photo of what I'm talking about.

 

This is how I assembled it -

1. Cut out all the flowers out of linen using the Blossom Nestabilities die through the Cuttlebug
2. Added some faux stitching with a black pen around the edges of each flower
3. Assembled the flowers on top each other
4. Pierced a hole down the middle of the stack with a paper piercer
5. Added a pearl brad
6. Pierced the brad through a strip of ribbon and BAM - done ready to wear

Pardon the self-portrait with no make-up...it was a very long day, but at least you're able to see how the headband looks on.

The following card I shared with you on my last video tutorial, Tailored Bow Tutorial. Oh speaking of which be on the look out for my next video...hope to finish the editing this weekend! This is a fun card using Gina K. Designs, Free with Purchase set called Holiday Hospitality, and here it is.

 

This card came together quite quickly...don't you love it when it does?! I started with a Gina K. Designs Pure Luxury White card stock for my base. Then cut a smaller piece of Stampin' Up!'s Merry Moments designer paper and embossed the sentiment from Holiday Hospitality with white embossing powder. I then adhered it to the card front by sewing around the edges with my sewing machine.

After I put my bow together using another one of Sharon's fabulous striped ribbon (Red/Ivory), I added a ZVA Creative pearl Snowflake to the middle and some Double-Sided tape to the back of it in order to adhere it to the card front. That's it ready to be mailed out this Christmas.

This card I put together for this week's Sketch Challenge over at SCS. I'm using StampTV's Holiday Cheer set. Feel free to click on the image to view it larger.

I'm still trying to find an alternate traditional color combo I'd like to stick with this Christmas and so I thought I would play around with brown and blue...not sure it's sticking, but I do like how the card turned out. The card base is Gina K.'s Pure Luxury Ivory card stock and I also used it on the back panels. For the back panels I ran it through the Cuttlebug in an inked up Snow Dots Embossing Folder. I love the look of it...I made sure to wipe it as soon as I finished embossing to add a bit of luster.

The bottom piece of designer paper is from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses paper pad. I added some distressing around the edges with some Vivid Coffee Bean ink. This pad is quickly becoming one of my favorites so I'm sure I'll be using it a lot this holiday season. The ribbon is from a Taylored Expressions kit I received a while back. I just layered it on top of each other to give it this look...love doing this with sheer and solid ribbon.

For the main image I stamped the reindeer with Vivid Coffee Bean ink and the trees with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink. I then covered the entire panel with Martha Stewart Glue pad and sprinkled some dazzling Diamonds on top.

Finished the card off by adding some halfback pearls to the reindeer image and then to the lower half of the card front. I'll be adding the sentiment to the inside of the card to keep the card front from being too cluttered.

Day 3 Paper Temptress Treasure Hunt, CAS, & JUGS!

Happy Monday! Hope you had a fabulous weekend. I have some fun stuff to share with you today starting with the opportunity to win some yummy blog candy!

Paper Temptress is a year-old and Patricia wanted to celebrate with a Treasure Hunt. If you happened to be reading about this until today, then make sure to go to the Paper Temptress blog to find out all the details. Basically as you go through the hunt for the next week you'll need to collect letters from some of the blogs. These letters will spell out a word...so since you'll need my letter, let me just give that to you now - it's the letter E!

Now onto a couple of samples I put together using some of the fabulous paper from Paper Temptress. The first project I incorporate two challenges, this week's CAS Challenge as well as JUGS, Just Us Girls 3D challenge (JUGS4).

The 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base is made out of Copper Metallic paper. I stamped the window from Gina K. Design's Hip to Be Square designed by Melanie Muenchinger with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White. I cut the square out and stamped the bird/branch from Gina K. Design's Home Tweet Homeset designed by Rupa Shevde with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the images with Copic Markers and layered it on top of a piece of Orange Fiz paper, and adhered it to the corner of the card front.

The ribbon embellishment is actually three parts. the base is a ribbon flowers; followed by layered flower I cut out using the technique challenge from the JUGS blog; and lastly, it's all kept together with the a brad. To make the flower a bit more texture and easily crunched...I sewed around it. I attached it to the card front with double-stick strip.

The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Arranged with Loveset designed by Melanie Muenchinger. I stamped it onto a scarp piece of Orange Fiz paper, punched it out with the large scallop punch and adhered it to a scallop oval I punched out of Copper Metallic paper. I adhered it to the ribbon/flower embellishment with glue dots.

This next project features one of my favorite papers, Sorbet Double Sided card stock. I'm using the Blue/Ice Cappuccino paperto make this centerpiece for a baby shower.

 

This particular origami box is called a Star Box and in less than 15 steps, it came together. I love using this paper because it's double sided and it really makes the top pop. I added some pearls to each of the corners. I set it aside to work on the candy and scallop topper.

The scallop topper is five pieces: the stick is covered with Mellow Moss ribbon; the chipboard scallop flower I inked up with Baja Breeze ink and added some halfback pearls; in the middle I added a vellum circle; and the baby face is from Gina K. Design's Hip to Be Square designed by Melanie Muenchinger. Here's a close up of just the box minus the baby piece.

 

The chocolates are Hershey's Nuggets I covered with labels I put together. I started by stamping the sentiment, hello baby, from  Gina K. Design's Hip to Be Square designed by Melanie Muenchinger with Coffee Bean Vivid ink. I then stamped the row of stitches from the same set with Tempting Turquoise along the edges and sponged the labels with Baja Breeze ink. I ran them all through the Cuttlebug with Polka Dot Embossing Border from the Just My Type set. I adhered them to the chocolate and then all to the centerpiece.
