Easter Treat & A Free for All Challenge

Happy Friday! I just wanted to thank you all for your interest in the apron tutorial. I was just tickled pink that so many of you are interested in having me put one together. I will try to carve out some time this weekend to put a video tutorial or at the very least a written tutorial. I have quite a busy weekend, but be on the look out for that as well as some announcements, so make sure to check back when you get a second this weekend. 

Today, I was in the mood to start my prep for Easter treats and thought I would check in on SCS to see what today's Limited Supply challenge was all about ~ love checking in on the challenges as a launching point. To my surprise, the challenge is no longer there! In it's place you will find a new challenge called Free For All  (F4A1). Wendy came up with a fun challenge for the first challenge ~ Texture (embossing, ribbon, embellishment, etc.); Colors (use a color you don't normally yours) and Pattern (use pattern paper). Here's what I came up with, an Easter Treat Holder.

I designed it so that when you remove it from the bag, the little bunny pops up - how fun is that?! The bunny is from Stampin' Up!'s Chocolate Bunny...too cute! I used a strip of grass I punched out with Martha Stewart's Grass Edge Punch, cut it down to 1" wide, and folded it in half. I adhered the non-grass side to the bottle cup.  

The designer paper inside mega bottle cup, which is from Maya Road by the way, is from My Mind's Eye's Beloved Die-cut accessories. The sentiment I add to the tag is from Stampin' Up!, it's called Teeny Tiny Wishes. I added some chocolate Eggs inside the bottle cup and now that is all wrapped it's ready to go!

What's Under That Apron?

Happy Wednesday! I'm in the shower yesterday morning thinking of what recipe to tackle with my nephew for lunch and out of no where a picture of an apron gift card/money holder popped into my head. Needless to say, I finished showering quickly so I could get out and sketch it out...okay, am I alone in this? Do you have those similar creative bolts strike you at the most inappropriate times?

When I got home last night, I tackled it and put it together to share with you. I also included an adorable paper pieced Cecily Cinnamonsticks on the inside, which I will show you in a bit. I wanted to paper piece this image because it lends itself so easily to that technique and well, I just had to take part in Joanne's Joanne's Blogaversary Challenge.

When I set out to design it, I wanted it to fit into a regular size envelope, which it does; I wanted it to be a gift card or money holder, which it is; and I wanted it to have a cooking theme, which I believe I accomplished with this adorable image.

Cecily is popped up on top of an envelope where you can easily add money or a gift card holder...love that! I paper pieced her with paper from Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird; BasicGrey's Bittersweet and Nook & Pantry. I added some halfback pearls, glitter, and liquid pearls.

The next share I have for you today is a card I put together using this week's sketch challenge (SC269) over at SCS and Gina K. Designs' Lovely Labels.

 

It's going to a friend who recently lost her father...hope it will bring a smile to her face. The paper here is from BasicGrey's Origins pad. The label I colored with Copics after I cute it out using Nestabilities dies. I finished it off by using some halfback pearls.

Anything But a Card Tuesday: It's a Wrap!

Happy Tuesday! I am a bit sad as I type this post because it's my last week hosting the Anything But a Card challenge over at StampTV. I had a blast coming up with ideas every week for the last three months and appreciate all of you how took the time to participate. This being my last challenge I entitled it It's a Wrap because I'm wrapping up my three months as the hostess and well because this week's challenge is all about wrapping. More specific it's about gift bags.

Unlike the very expensive bags you'll find at a gift store, I'm challenging you not to buy, but to make your own and you'll just flip at how inexpensive it is, yet how much you will like the end result. So the challenge is to transform a plain gift bag into a themed gift bag using stamps and embellishments! You can use bags with handles or without, it's totally up to you...even lunch bags work for this challenge.

Here's what I started with.

I was in an Easter mood and so I used the Spring Florals and Lovely Labels set to put my themed bag together. I stamped the flowers directly on the bag and colored the images with Copics. The grass border created using Martha Stewart's grass punch. I then added some halfback pearls and set it aside to work on the sentiment.

The label is from the Lovely Labels set designed by Nina Brackett. I stamped it on green card stock and stamped the sentiment from Spring Floral in the middle. I cut it out, adhered a string of pearls to the swirl, and adhered it to the bag with some fun spring colored ribbon.

H{ippity} Hop Monday - Sugar Rush Inspired Card Set

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. I'm excited you've joined me today for another H{ippity} Hop Monday, you can find a list of all those participating HERE! 

I decided to put a set of four cards together using two {ippity} sets: Because of You and Just Wanted to Say.All these cards were inspired by BasicGrey's Sugar Rush line and along with a sampling of this line, you will get full instructions on how to put these cards together HERE! There will also be a linking there on where to buy these stamps. I've added a photo of each card and a quick explanation of each...here we go and hope you like them!

As you'll be able to tell, they're all CAS (Clean and Simple) and I don't know about you, but some times, that's just what I want to put together. The first two cards I used the Because of You set, here's the first, Good Times.

I love how this sentiment is pretty much all you need to put together a sweet friendship card.

This second card with the same set, Be Mine.

I adore these birds in their cage...just so sweet and again much like the card above, there's much needed to get the message across. The sentiment is from BasicGrey's Sugar Rush canvas.

For the next two cards I wanted the sentiment to express it all and so used Just wanted to Say... The first card, Thanks So Much.

I love the orange colors in this BasicGrey paper pad and so wanted it to be the catalyst to express a gratitude. The canvas is from BasicGrey's Sugar Rush canvas and the flower from the Bloomers pack.

The second card is my attempt at a masculine card, Thinking of You.

Now that I look at it, it can also be for a friend who is going through some loss or hard times.
