Happy Wednesday! Are you all ready for Halloween? I don't know why but this year I'm so over the moon excited for it...though I'm sure it has a lot to do with the fact that this is Gaven's first year in school. Well, he had pre-K, but Kindergarten is just different. I'm not sure if it's because he's older or just because I'm able to make crafty items for more kids (30 for his class). Anyway, that's what I've been up to the last couple of days and hope to share the items with you in the next day or so.
For today's creative share I have a tag. When I saw MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge, to make a tag or use a tag in your project, I just had to jump on it. Here's what I came up with.
I had the idea for the mitten for a while now, but haven't had a chance to put it together. In fact I may decided to add it to my Seasonal Saturday Video series...so stay tuned for that. I'm still designing tags with the idea that they can be used as an ornament for years to come...don't you love it when things have more than one purpose?!
I wasn't quite sure of what to add in the middle of the mitten, but my newly arrived MFT' Teacher's Pet, was just perfect! The sentiment is also from the same set - by the way, this set is going to be released in November I believe. I stamped it on white card stock as well as on some School Spirit Collect paper from Crate Paper.
As for the mitten, it's from Maya Roads. I covered the chipboard with a piece of patterned paper from October Afternoon's Report Card paper pad. I had purchased some faux fur at the fabric store and that's what I added to the top of the mitten. The ribbon treatment is some ribbon; a bow; a snowflake chipboard covered in white and glitter; and finished off with a button tied with some twine.
The fun part with this tag is that you can add it to a bag or box or even a gift card in the back and just give it away like that...hmm, now that I'm writing this, I may have to try that out.
Happy you're able to join in on the challenge!
