In my first post for this year, I'm joining other members of the Gina K. designs team in day 2 of inspiration hops for Gina K. Designs December Release! First up is my project with the Special Occasion Tags set by Tami Mayberry.
One of my favorite fashion designers of all time is Coco Chanel - mostly due to my grandmother's influence. My grandmother owned this amazing Chanel houndstooth jacket that I just adored and when I think of her, I think of her wearing that jacket. I drew my inspiration for the design of this box from my memories of her and her jacket - hope you like it. Here's how it came together.
- Cut out the bottom of the box out of white card stock (or to make it a bit more sturdy, use card board) using a box die. I used one from AccuCut, but you can always alter a box as well.
- Cut the top of the box out of patterned paper. Assemble the bottom and top of the box.
- Make four bows out of ribbon, add a pearl in the middle of each bow, and adhere them to each corner of the box top. (I used hot glue to make sure they would stay in place).
- On a piece of white card stock, stamp the label and then the word "happy" and the word "Day". Under the sentiment, add some pearls and cut it out.
- To finish off the box, fold a 1/2" x 1-1/4" piece of paper in half and adhere it to the box. Adhere the label to it so that the label is popped up. Here's what the back of it looks like.

Next up is a card with You've got Style the new One free with 3 set for this month.
Love pink and black together and love how it works for pretty much any occasion. This is how easy this CAS card came together:
- Create a top-folding standard size card (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") out of white card stock.
- Thread a strip of ribbon through a heart buckle/ribbon slider and adhere the ends to a 1-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of black card stock and adhere it to the middle of the card front.
- Stamp the sentiment just above the strip of paper and set it aside.
- On a piece of pink card stock, emboss the bra with white embossing powder and cut it out with a circle punch.
- Cut a scalloped circle out of black card stock, add the embossed images with pop dots on top of it, and it to the top right corner of the card front - with that, you are done!
