Missing You & Taylored Expressions Update

Happy Tuesday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend and boy do I have a lot to catch you up on. Today I can share one bit of news with you, but the rest will have to wait until tomorrow. Not that I mean to tease you, it's just that I'm waiting on the go ahead on one more item.

As some of you might have read on Taylor's blog yesterday, my official last day on her team was yesterday. I had a wonderful time designing with her line of stamps and her newly released dies; had the pleasure to work along side at CHA with some of the wonderful ladies that make up most of her design team; and even had the chance to meet some of you in person. I'd like to extend my most sincere gratitude to Taylor for the last six months and wish her all the best in her ever growing successful company.

I thought it was fitting to conclude my design team term with Taylored Expressions with a card featuring her stamps. I used this week's Color Combo Challenge (CC286) over SCS along with the Summer Afternoon and CreativiTEA set to come up with this.

I used a bit of October Afternoon's Fly a Kite patterned paper to cut out a circle using Spellbinders Lacey Circles die and the classic circle to cut the middle section. At the end of each loop I added a rhinestones from Taylor's Twinkles and set it aside.

I stamped the image from Summer Afternoonand cut it out with a Spellbinder's Classic Circles dies. I sponged around the image with some ColorBox Ice Blue Fluid Chalk ink. I adhered it to the lacey circle piece  and place it on top of  a piece of Polka Dot Mellon Mambo Grosgrain Ribbon.I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Melon Mambo card stock and punched it out with the modern label punch.

Taylored Expressions August Customer Blast From The Past Blog Hop

Happy Tuesday and welcome Taylored Expressions' August Customer Blast from the Past blog hop! As you go through the hop you will be inspired by project after project featuring Taylored Expressions stamps and product. I decided to ink up one of the images from Punchy Potions set and used the sentiment from A Year of Sweet Sentiments. Here's what I came up with.

I colored this fun image from Punchy Potions set  with Copics and cut it out. I layered it on top of a scallop oval I cut out with Spellbinder's Scalloped Oval and embellished it with some of Taylors Tiny Twinkles, Crystal Twinkles.

What's great about this tin, even though it's called a Tea Tin and made to store tea, it can be used for so many other things. In this case I will fill it with some yummy chocolates. It will go to school with Gaven so he can give it to his teacher...hope she likes it!

I wrapped some Mesh form the Mesh Trim Sampler, around the tin to make a bit more festive. From the mesh I hung the sentiment which reads "Magically delicious!" from the A Year of Sweet Sentiments set...don't you just love it for a Halloween treat and thought it went great with the witch image. I went ahead dressed the tag up as well with some of Taylors Tiny Twinkles, Crystal Twinkles.

Spotlight on Taylored Expressions' August Key Ingredients

Happy Sunday! Today half the Bakers Dozen are sharing some fun projects we've put together using the August Key Ingredients kit. For those of you who are not subscribers yet, these monthly kits are exclusive to only subscribers, meaning you will not be able to purchase them at the store. Along with this perk, there are a few others which I will outline towards the bottom of my post.

Every month Taylor puts forth a challenge to all subscribers and the participating Baker's Dozed design team members. This month the keywords are "Fancy Flight". The challenge here is to be inspired by things that fly. Think of the sky , birds, butterflies, or perhaps kites...possibilities are endless. Take your kit and join us this month won't you?! You have such gorgeous patterned paper to play with that coordinate beautifully with the card stock, ribbon, and the darling butterflies. Taylor has also selected some stickers that enable you to finish your project just beautifully. You can see a photo of all the items in this kit, HERE!

One of my favorite things about Taylor's kits is that I can easily go to her store and find additional items to match the numerous things that are included in the kit. I wanted to make a holder for my project and ventured off into her Favor Boxes section and went with the Cupcake Card. I decided to take the holder section of the  Cupcake Card and turn it into a purse. Here's a photo of the purse with the note cards tucked inside.

I sewed on the front of the holder, adhered the ribbon to the back of the holder, and adhered it together with Sticky Tape. I then added some Kaisercraft Chocolate Pearls for decorative purposes and used a brown AC Baby Girl Pearl Brad for the closure.The handle I used on my purse and everything on the note cards, with the exception of Taylor's Tiny Crystal Twinkles and dies, came from the August Key Ingredients Kit.

Next I worked on the note cards. I used the Take Note Die 3die to make the note cards. I started with a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of card stock, folded it in half to end up with a 3-3/4" x 2-1/2" note card. I positioned the die right above the fold and ran it through my Big Shot. I then rounded off the point at the bottom of the note card and started designing each one. Below is a group photo of all the note cards followed by individual close up photos of each note card.

First note card is the last one I designed, but my favorite. In addition to the Take Note Die 3 I used for the base of the note card, I used the flower from the Garden Party Blooms Die Set 1 to cut out a flower out of Parakeet Choice card stock and used it as the top of the tree. Here's a close up of the note card.

Next up are two very simple cards, one with patterned paper fully covering the card front.

And this one with just half the card front covered.

Finally, my fourth one is about making you smile...two sweet butterflies and a sweet sentiment.

Happy Wednesday! I finally managed to get some creative time in my studio late last night. To get my creative juices going I decided to tackle this week's SCS's Sketch challenge (SC293) using the adorable Tweet Hearts set. This is what I came up with.

This sketch had 6 layers and so I wanted to respect that but at the same time keep the card fluid so that I could still create a CAS (Clean and Simple) look. I used October Afternoon's Fly a Kite patterned paper with a bit of Suede Brown Medium choice card stock for background and pretty much stuck to that color combo.

I used the flower and stem/leaves die from the Garden Party Blooms Die Set 2 die set to cut out some pieces out of felt and fabric. I thought it would be fun to cut the flower out of polka dot fabric and the stem/leaves out of solid. To add a little interest to the stem/leaves I added some stitching with a bit of Farmers Market Chocolate Twine.

I finished it off with a button; a strip of Vintage Crochet Trim - Pom Pom; Brown Ruffled Trim; Green Candy Dots; and some piercing and outlining with a brown marker.
